MILLIONS OF PEOPLE IN MORE THAN 100 COUNTRIES
PARTICIPATE IN WORLD RIVERS DAY
ON THE 4th SUNDAY OF EVERY SEPTEMBER
World Rivers Day is a celebration of the world’s waterways. It highlights the many values of rivers and strives to increase public awareness and encourages the improved stewardship of rivers around the world.
Ways to celebrate with us throughout September:
Visit Beaver Creek Conservation area Wednesday to Sunday 10 am – 5 pm. Check out the window display to find out just how important it is to keep our rivers healthy. Get your bingo card to see how many items you can spot around the river valley. Sue from PFSRB will be on-site on World Rivers Day with her watershed model to explain how we can all keep our water sources healthy! When exploring around the Meewasin Valley, please stay on the marked trails – to protect the sensitive riparian habitat of the aquatic plants and creatures that make the riverbank area their home.
