The SSRWSI is proud to work closely with governments, municipalities, and environmental non-government organizations to promote environmental protection and stewardship in the South Saskatchewan River Basin.
Water Security Agency (formerly Saskatchewan Watershed Authority) is responsible for managing watershed and aquifer planning, developing partnerships and projects that help provide healthy watersheds and providing assessment and monitoring practices that ensure the protection and restoration of the province’s water sources. SWA works together with the South Saskatchewan River Watershed Stewards and provides important funding to implement the goals and key actions of the Source Water Protection Plan.
The City of Saskatoon is actively involved in protecting our water source through their involvement and support for the South Saskatchewan River Watershed Stewards (SSRWSI) and the Source Water Protection Plan. As the largest municipality in the watershed, the City of Saskatoon has two representatives on the SSRWSI board of directors.
